Description:
Contemporary extension and full refurbishment of an Edwardian House. Retrofitting insulation throughout as part of the enhancement of the fabric of the building. Large picture window in the loft floor and en suite bathrooms added. The rear extension was designed to maximise natural light and a ‘secret’ door was added as a side entrance.
The Idea:
A low-carbon approach strategy was applied from the inception of the project. Maximising natural light and combined with mechanical ventilation allowed the project to open to the exterior in a sustainable manner
The concept:
Extension making the most of the outside-inside , creating a secluded and protected terrace that becomes an alternative outdoor dining space as it can be fully integrated to the interior.
Interior:
Contemporary and modern approach with fabrics and textures that enhance the acoustic performance of the social areas.
