Why L+ Architects and L+ Living believe architecture, landscape and community must evolve together.
At L+ Architects and L+ Living, mixed-use development is our core focus – and for good reason. It’s the future of placemaking. We design layered, liveable spaces that bring together homes, workspaces, green infrastructure and public realm in a seamless, sensory whole.
Whether we’re working on a neighbourhood-scale masterplan, a residential-led urban infill, or a community-centred later living scheme, our goal is the same: to make beautiful, biophilic, commercially smart places that stand the test of time.

Specialists in Mixed-Use, Inside and Out
Our studio brings together architecture, landscape and interiors – which means we can shape entire environments, not just buildings. From roof terraces to planted courtyards, active travel routes to flexible commercial ground floors, we design to connect.
We understand how different uses intersect and support each other. Our mixed-use work focuses on making places legible, adaptable, and joyful – while meeting planning policy, ESG goals and real-world budgets.
“Successful mixed-use isn’t just about density. It’s about designing a rhythm — a flow between public, private and shared space that feels intuitive and alive.” – Pablo Lambrechts, Principal Architect.
From Google HQ to Green Urban Living
Pablo Lambrechts led the design of Google’s HQ at King’s Cross and numerous award-winning regeneration projects before founding L+ Architects. That big-project experience now powers our smaller, more agile studio – allowing us to deliver strategic, placemaking-led design for developers, landowners, and local authorities.
Recent and ongoing projects include:
Landscape and Architecture, Designed as One
We don’t bolt on greenery at the end. At L+ Living, our landscape team co-designs with our architects from the start — delivering cohesive, layered places that support biodiversity, health and long-term stewardship.
Whether it’s tree-lined streets, planted Suds systems, or tranquil sensory gardens for later living and SEND schemes, our outdoor spaces do more than look good – they perform, socially and environmentally.
Sustainable Construction, Flexible to Site
We are also proud to partner with cross-laminated timber (CLT) manufacturers to offer quick, low-carbon, beautiful builds – especially useful for sites with tight timelines or complex logistics.
But we’re not dogmatic. We design for traditional construction routes too, and always tailor our delivery to what works best for the project and client.
While mixed-use is our primary area of work, our team also has deep experience in:
We’re seeking likeminded collaborators who want to shape meaningful places.
